Finally--an original movie idea August 30, 2010 King Fan (Minneapolis, MN United States) This movie is not only funny, but it is refreshing. Someone actually had an orignal movie idea--not a remake. Very sweet and funny.
An Author's Delight August 23, 2010 Rudi London (Nashville, TN USA) If you are a true Author of Fiction, you MUST see this movie :)
Don't be surprised if you recognize two very familiar characters - from recent Sonic commercials - playing IRS agents in this movie....
And how it ends...? Well, we haven't even touched on that yet...
Smart Humor July 27, 2010 One Critical Cat "Stranger than Fiction" is a funny film following a boring and regimented man who works for the IRS. As he performs his daily menial tasks he begins hearing narration of his own life. The film progresses as he attempts to determine who is doing the narration and begins to examine his own life at the same time. Working as an IRS auditor has few perks and some funny scenes ensue as he attempts to perform a job that he begins to realize has very little appeal to him.
Will Ferrell's interactions with his fellow castmates is right on and all of the performances are believable and revealing. It's amazing to see the correlation between film and writing and the depth of study into literature and writers is excellent. This film shows an appealing humanity and smart humor that everyone will enjoy.
Excellent Movie July 3, 2010 Gary Varnell This is one of my favourite movies of all time.
The story is amazing and the acting is excellent.
Voices from an English broad June 3, 2010 The Evaluator (Gainesville, FL) One of Will Ferrell's better efforts. But then again...it IS Will Ferrell.
Notice the male shower scene. It seems that Will Ferrell MUST have some homo-oriented
scene in every one of his movies. Apparently, the guy is as queer as a three dollar bill.
