Album Description An original member of Commissioned, Marvin Sapp is one of Gospel music's most recognizable voices to date. In 2007, his fourth solo release Thirsty became a Gold Certified success, spurred on by the history-making lead single "Never Would Have Made It". "Never Would Have Made It" was named the longest running #1 single at radio across all genres, spending more than 40 weeks in the top spot. Marvin's new release Here I Am is a live recording that showcases the raw vocal abilities of the "pastor who sings". The first single, "The Best In Me", is already being hailed as an inspirational classic.

If you're a Marvin Sapp fan; you'll enjoy this project as well.
Don't know if it will "commercially" have the same impact as his previous project with
"Never Would Have Made It" ... but it will definitely calm your soul.
Marvin doesn't disappoint.
He Has His Hands on You May 9, 2010 Rell (The Big NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
--This album is excellent. I love the arrangements and most of lyrics. "He Has His Hands on You" is a stand out for me. It's so encouraging and sang with such authority.
--Anyway, reading some of the lower stared reviews inspired me to right this review. Mostly because they couldn't pinpoint why they didn't like it.
--One person stated that this album was like Thirsty part II. I couldn't disagree more. For example, "Praise you Forever" sounds like soft-pop gospel, something you wouldn't normally hear in black gospel music. It's very cross-over. Additionally, we have "More than a Conqueror" which sounds almost like 90s R&B. There was nothing like either of the a fore mentioned songs of Thirsty. Another reviewer stated that they listened to the album once and didn't like it, but they loved Thirsty... Do you see the conflict? One reviewer says it's just like Thirsty the other says it's nothing like Thirsty.
--I do agree a bit with both reviews. There are some similarities to Thirsty...which I like (It was a great album, why break it if it's still works). The jazzy beats, big vocals, and spirit-filled praise songs were similar, but the lyrical content and arrangement were different enough, so that I didn't really like the album the first time I heard it. However, after listening to it over and over, I really enjoyed it. And I think others will too. Give the songs a chance before dismissing them. You may be missing out on some great praise, enlightenment, and/or growth in God. "Just know..he has his hand on you".
