| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Newsweek called renowned minister Timothy Keller “a C. S. Lewis for the twenty-first century” in a feature on his first book, The Reason for God. In that book, he offered a rational explanation of why we should believe in God. Now, in The Prodigal God, he uses one of the best-known Christian parables to reveal an unexpected message of hope and salvation.
Taking his trademark intellectual approach to understanding Christianity, Keller uncovers the essential message of Jesus, locked inside his most familiar parable. Within that parable Jesus reveals God's prodigal grace toward both the irreligious and the moralistic. This book will challenge both the devout and skeptics to see Christianity in a whole new way.

True To Its Subtitle July 27, 2010 Derek True to its subtitle, in The Prodigal God Timothy Keller gets to the heart of the Christian faith, and "sees all the way to the bottom of the lake" of Jesus' teachings. Very insightful, speaking powerfully to inquirers of Christianity as well as to those believers (all of us) who need a refreshing look at the Person and teachings of our Lord.
Enlightening July 27, 2010 NeeNee It is a well written book that is enlightening. I was fascinated with the title, only in reading it did I realize how blessed we are to have a "prodigal God". I recommend this to anyone who needs reminding of what God does for us.
A Must READ! July 27, 2010 Randall W. Vetter (davis junction, IL) If you need answers to some tough questions in your life or if you're just needing a lift, Tim Keller's book is highly recommended. Gives you a totally different outlook on why bad things always happen to good people and how to deal with it.
Church Book Club Read July 23, 2010 Alice A. Mcgraw (Palos Heights, IL) Our pastor has selected this book for our congregation to read and discuss at his quarterly book club this fall.
Almost as good as the sermon July 20, 2010 John P. Lalka (us) Tim restates his landmark sermon in an expanded form--maybe the book came first. The book has less impact than the sermon, but is filled out in more background and detail. He has done an excellent job of casting the parable in an updated context. Recommend listening to the free downloadable audio available as a podcast.
